October 25, 2019 Edition
This #Flashback Friday we go back to the 2015 Enchanted 10K and Princess Half Marathon. Thankfully, it was a little warmer for these two events and not so “frozen” as it was for the 5k. So let’s #flashback on this Friday and see what happened!
Enchanted 10k
Don’t you just love when you look back and have no pictures to put in your blog post! Ugh! This was not my first rodeo with this 10k but I love it! Going through the World Showcase and running on the Boardwalk is one of my favorite things!
However, I managed to find this one picture from the corral. I was a Dalmatian! Not even find a picture with my medal. What was I thinking?
Princess Half Marathon
On to the next early wake up call. 2:45 am EASTERN time. Three mornings in a row. Is it worth it? Oh yeah! So many women, and a some men, supporting each other is something that is amazing to see. And believe it or not, I took pictures! And with characters! Oh, and the BLING!!
When you make your way towards the Magic Kingdom, the level of excitement rises all around you. You can feel it, see it, and hear it. Year after year, it never fails me. It really gets you going even when it’s really early in the morning! Down you go under the sea by the Contemporary and the next thing you know, you’re running down Main Street USA! There she is, Cinderella’s Castle, all lit up and beautiful! All the feels and your feet move faster and the spectators are cheering you and your closest new friends on!
The only part of this route that bums me out is cone alley and mile 10. What is cone alley, you ask? It’s the area after you leave the Magic Kingdom. A narrow area where it might be a little bottled up. Thankfully, it doesn’t last too long. And mile 10…well, we just don’t get a long. That’s my hit a wall spot on that route.
But at the end, my wish was granted and I finished with a hug from my girl! I’m not running Princess in 2020. I thought I’d be ok with it but I have to say that I’m going to miss it. I have a big task ahead of me though. More to focus on with the marathon weekend quickly approaching.
