#Flashback Friday

November 2, 2019 Edition

Ok, I know that it’s not Friday but November goals came first! On this Saturday edition of #Flashback Friday, we’re going back to the 2017 Turkey Trot. Twinkletoes and I started this tradition and had a great time doing it! Let’s dive into this #Flashback Friday on this Saturday!

Do you trot before you eat turkey?

I had been seeing the Facebook event for this race for a few years and thought, why would anyone want to do this and mess up any traditions? Finally, I decided to change that. We started a new one and what a great decision. The Pensacola Turkey Trot was a tradition that would stick, until we moved.

The race organizers do a wonderful job and start with giving back to the community. To get your race shirt, that might I add is super soft, you were required to bring in canned or non-perishable food for the local food bank. Great start!

The route was…

The route was beautiful! Starting at Bartram Park which is a great meeting place with easy access to parking. Then it’s a nice and easy go through downtown. Around the gorgeous old homes and sites of Pensacola. Some with elaborate Christmas decorations to brighten your spirits along the way!

At the end of the 5k, we were so happy we participated in this event that we decided that we were going to join in the fun every year!

Now to find another Turkey Trot!

The hunt is now on in our new city to find a turkey trot! Can’t let the tradition die just because we moved! Do you trot before you eat all the stuffing?

Drop me a line and let me know what running traditions you have in November! Until next time, keep on truckin’!
