Week in Rewind

November 11, 2019

Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all who gave all. And thank you to all who continue to keep our country safe.

This past week was a little bit of go here, be there. I’ll break it down for you in this week in rewind. I got fit for orthotics and started physical therapy. Good stuff, huh! I enjoy physical therapy. It’s nothing new to me and reminds me of my college years. So, here we go through the week in rewind.

Well, what did I do this week?

  • Monday – Rode 8.08 miles on the Peloton before Total Toning class. Did some stretching and rolling. My hip felt pretty good today!
  • Tuesday – Rode 6.35 miles on the bike. More rolling.
  • Wednesday – Rode 8.18 miles on the Peloton. Total Toning class today. Went to the doctor about my hip to see what she says. A little bit of stretching.
  • Thursday – Had a doctor’s appointment downtown. Took FOREVER!!
  • Friday – Total Toning today before my first physical therapy appointment. I’m glad I decided not to get a ride in before. I would have been sore if I had.
  • Saturday – Family day! Mr. Man had a day off and we went to an escape room and to lunch. Then watched some football. Much needed family time!
  • Sunday – Did my PT exercises and meal planned. A new Publix opened closer to the house so I went to checked it out. The other one I went to wasn’t that much further away but why not check it out.

Can you believe…

Can you believe that I just made my FastPasses for the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend? How can that be? In 60 days, we will be there for the marathon. AGHHHH! Do I feel anywhere near ready. Nope. I know it’s better to be undertrained than overtrained but my longest run has been 15 miles.

I would be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t freaking out. I’m thankful for the Peloton bikes as they really work me but it’s not the same as being on the road. At least it’s getting my heart rate up.

How do you handle being sidelined?

Do you have any tips or tricks to handle being sidelined? How do you handle the mental side of an injury or missing long runs? Let me know by leaving me a comment.

Until next time, keep on truckin’!
