#Flashback Friday

October 4, 2019

This #Flashback Friday is a special one! It was the one time that we went to Disneyland for RunDisney’s Avengers Weekend 2015. Every time I see a Marvel movie I flashback to that weekend! Welcome to #Flashback Friday Avengers style!

We flew out to LA for an awesome weekend. The weather was amazing! One of our favorite things was the difference in the time. We woke up so early we were able to watch the 5k finishers going across the finish line! We’ve never been able to do that unless we wanted to get up early at Disney World. So that was a neat perk!

The Expo and 10k

The expo was a little different than our Disney World expo. Nothing bad just a little smaller than we were used to from past experiences. We had a lot of fun in the parks and then it was time to get ready for the 10k! The 3 of us got all costumed up for the morning!

It was such a blast having both of them with me for the 10k! We had a blast! And afterwards, we had a delicious breakfast in Downtown Disney! We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and being able to walk everywhere was a huge benefit. If RunDisney starts having race weekends again, I think we would probably stay at the Grand Californian just to mix it up. That place is beautiful, y’all!

The Half Marathon

The next morning, I was on my own. I was so excited for this half for several reason. For one, the half went through the Angels Stadium!! So fun! This was my first event on the west coast, RunDisney or not. And the big banana, I was going to get my Coast to Coast medal! O.M.G. I had run the Princess Half Marathon in February and now Avengers Half to finish out this challenge! I couldn’t wait to get started.

The only thing I missed about running in Disney World versus Disneyland was being able to have more park time. But once I made it to the stadium, I didn’t care! It was just as magical!

I wish I had taken more pictures with the characters that were out but I can’t go back in time! But I did bring my medals from Princess weekend to get some great shots with all of them from the year. And one special family photo for to round out the trip!

Do you miss the Disneyland RunDisney races? Were you at this event? I’m grateful that I was able to go and experience it with my family!

What will #Flashback Friday hold for me next week? You’ll have to wait and find out! Until next time, keep on truckin’!
