#Flashback Friday

October 11, 2019 edition

This #Flashback Friday takes us back to the 2014 Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend. Oh that one with the night half. Yea, let’s do that! I’m a night owl! That’ll be awesome! Hmmmm…..

So, here we go!

The event was awesome. For me, not the night owl, the time we started was not. Y’all, I’m not good at night. I can go to the parks all you want. Stay up for fireworks, you got it. Run 13.1 miles, nope. Not a chance that’s going to end well. I was so excited to run this course and finish up with some yummy food and my husband.

I really enjoyed the course! It was different from the Princess Half course. My favorite part is that we got to run through the Osborne Family Christmas Lights. My least favorite part was that it was cooler and raining.

I regret not taking more pictures but my body wasn’t liking me too much. I was wet and cold and just wanted to finish. But the lights. Oh how I love Christmas lights. Add in Disney magic and BOOM! More pixie dust! It was the only thing that kept my feet moving.

Here’s when it went sideways…

By the time I finished, I was so happy to see Mr. Man I didn’t know what to do! I was freezing and was so happy to have that mylar blanket. And my medal of course! I tried to eat my favorite thing, cheddar cheese soup from Le Cellier. My body said, “that’s a hard pass”. To the room we went.

I’m glad I experienced a night race. Will I do another one??? The only other one I’d consider is Rock and Roll, Las Vegas. I’m just not good at night for that type of activity.

Did you run this event? Do you like running at night?

Where will the next #Flashback Friday take us? Stick around and find out! Until next time, keep on truckin’!
